Alfred's guitar book is great for young children just starting out on the guitar with no prior knowledge of the guitar or music. It is available on Amazon.

The Hal Leonard Guitar Lesson Book series (Books 1, 2, and 3) is ideal for the beginner of any age, and is available on Amazon. While these books are great starting places, your teacher might have a different book they would like to use.
